At Mahanschool, we offer Early Childhood & Primary Education based on the timeless wisdom of the Six Arts of Confucianism with Cambridge Curriculum.

A typical school day starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. For our Early Childhood (EC1), school ends at 12:00 p.m., and for EC2 and EC3, school ends at 3:00 p.m.

The average class size is 15.

Primary Levels 4 – 6 are taught using a laptop in integrated lessons conducted by the classroom teacher. Those Students who do not have a laptop will use the desktop from ICT room. 

Our Mandarin and English as an Additional Language (MAL & EAL) Department helps children who require extra support from Primary 1 to 6 during the school day. Many students from various non-Mandarin and non-English speaking countries need varying levels of EAL support. In the Primary years, it is absolutely okay for a child not to know the language. They will learn quickly via ‘in-class learning’, EAL specialised support and playtime activities. Additional fees will be applied as after school programmes.

Being an inclusive school, we do take in children with different needs – physical, emotional, social or educational; as long as we are sure that the school can provide the support that the child needs.

We offer three languages: Mandarin, English, Bahasa Melayu.

Yes, field trips are an essential part of the educational programme at Mahanschool. Students are taken for day trips, overnight camps and 2 – 5-day field trips to different parts of Malaysia.

Music plays an integral part in our school curriculum. Traditional Chinese instrument, for example, Erhu, Gu Zheng, Gu Qin, Flute and more by experienced professionals in school, is incorporated within the school day for the child.

Our focus has always been on serving all our students a healthy, nutritious and balanced diet. Our in-house kitchen staff at MAHANS serve vegetarian meal plans.

i. EC 1: Morning Snack
ii. EC 2 & EC 3: Morning Snack and Lunch
iii. P1 to P6: Morning Snack, Lunch & Afternoon Snack

We do offer Boarding Programmes. (Only applicable for 9 years old onwards. For more details,
please refer to the “Discover the Student Lifestyle at Mahanschool Boarding”.)

1. Fill in the Application Form & pay application fee (nonrefundable & nontransferable).
2. Interview with parent and child will be schedule.(Test only for Primary Level)
3. Successful candidate will be offered Admission letter and admission process will be advised accordingly.

The academic year starts in January and finishes in December.
For 2025, starting date – 6th January 2025

For the Early Childhood Programmes, no tests but interviews are required. Students applying for Primary Levels might need a test to determine their proficiency in the Mandarin and English languages so that appropriate grade placements can be arrived at.
Interviews are required for the Primary Level, too.

Our Academic scholarships are offered for Grade 3 onwards based on three categories:
1. Student moral conduct in on and off-school areas.
2. Academic Grade Results
3. Subject approval from the Board of Government – Scholarship Committee

Scheduled Parents Teachers Meeting gives opportunities for parents and teachers to meet and updates on the school activities. It does much valuable work supporting the school and is always happy to hear from interested parents.
